		<description>As salaam alaykum sis,
came across this, really cool.

You know when youre a niqaabi when no one can see you sticking out your tongue in contemplation of the latest story in the metro.

You know youre a hijabi/niqabi when you spend 1 min doing your hair and another 10 for your hijab.

Have been a niqabi for over a year and half and would never look back. Get one of the sweetest feelings from it .

Wasalam

		<description>Dearest Sisters,

may the Peace of God be with you all.

As a Christian woman who folllows the principles of headcovering and modest dress (as found in the Bible), i can more than relate to the comments and experiences many of you share concerning your daily walk as covered Muslim sisters. indeed, it is your presence that has kindled a spark in more than one Christian woman&#039;s heart concerning the place of these practices in our own faith experience - a tragic casualty of the revolution in morality and decency that occured first in the 1920&#039;s and again in the 1960&#039;s. Only 50 years ago or so, a respectable Christian woman in England, Australia or the US would not be caught dead leaving the house without wearing hat and gloves or a beautiful headscarf (ironically worn almost identically to the modern hijab). It is said that if a practice skipps but one generation it is as good as forgotten. In the post Christian, post modern West, this is all too evident.

There are however a small but increasing number of we Christian women who have examined the condition of our churches and culture finding them gravely wanting, only to truly plumb the depths of Holy Scripture therein discovering long forgotten and sobering truths concerning Modesty, headcovering and right behaviours for women.

here are a few references for anyone interested in following this up:

1 Corinthians 11: 1-16
1 Thessalonians 5: 17
1 Timothy2:9-10
Titus 2: 5
Titus 2: 14
1 Peter 3:3-4.

Many Christian women (and too many leaders of the faith) dismiss these verses as being culturally irrelevant, meant for another time, repressive blah blah (I am sure similar arguments against hijab and niqab rear their ugly heads in Muslim circles also)

You However are not alone, and there are many of us who admire your stoicism in the face of bitter adversity. Indeed, it is because of you we too are being led back onto the right path and solid ground.

may i recommend a fabulous website where you can learn about Christian women returning to modesty and a moral way of life:

www.ladiesagainstfeinism.com

When there, do read &#039;Modesty and the Christian Woman&#039; and &#039;If you&#039;ve got it, hide it&#039; plus many other excellent articles dealing with this subject.
